Spokane Fiction Writers (SFW) was founded because we believed the need for such a group existed in the region of Eastern Washington State and Northern Idaho. When our group was founded in 2010 there were several splendid writers groups already serving the needs of writers in the local region of eastern Washington State and northern Idaho. Generally, these established groups opened their membership to all writers. Fiction, non-fiction, journalists, memoir, autobiography, poetry, and pretty much everything related to the broad subject of writing. Which is great. Having that type of open forum allows the membership to include a tremendous amount of talent.
Our vision was a bit different. Wouldn’t it be great for a regional group that focused all of the attention on fiction and fiction only? Short stories, novellas, novels, and screenplays would be our specialty. Out of that idea Spokane Fiction Writers became a reality and we never looked back.
Latest Books
SFWG members have stepped forward to contribute to two books - anthologies - over a two year period. Once the Covid 'emergency' has passed, the group will begin working toward its third anthology.
Such works provide a means for each member to publish his/her writings as a first step in becoming a published author. In this regard, we welcome each members submission, subject to the guidelines set forth by the group.
